Who am I?
My name is Esti, I'm 20 years old and I'm a third year Architecture student, here in the UK. About a year and a half ago, I properly "discovered" (meaning that I'm obsessed with) youtube, beauty and fashion blogs and that whole world. Since then, reading blogs and catching up on youtube tutorials/vlogs are the highlight of each day.
My intention is to post written blogs, reviews and photos about skin care, hair care, nail products, make up, some tasty treats and things that look pretty.
So usually in my skin care/makeup products, the main thing I look for is moisture, they need to be moisturising and if they promote radiance, then that's a plus (usually helps a little with hyper-pigmentation). I also look for products which say they are suitable for sensitive skin or gentle, not oil based (essential oils are not a bad thing, though) and are non-comedogenic. Also, I look through the ingredients and try to avoid silicones, alcohol and parabens. In hair products my main thing is also moisture, I like products which are for dry, frizz-prone hair which nourish and protect against heat-styling and tend to include argan oil or similar products.
Hopefully this explains things a little and if you have any questions please comment below.
Why have I started this blog?
I decided to start this blog because I love reading other blogs, however, many of the blogs that I read, the majority (coincidentally) happen to have normal/oily skin. I have very sensitive and dry (amongst other issues... *sigh*) skin, so sometimes the skin care and face, foundation products etc. that are recommended don't work well for me. This way I can keep track of products I try and if even one person reads this and is helped in any way, that is more than enough for me.
What am I going to be posting about?
My intention is to post written blogs, reviews and photos about skin care, hair care, nail products, make up, some tasty treats and things that look pretty.
How often/when will I be posting?
I am hoping to post 3 times a week on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, of course, if I have a sudden urge to randomly add a new post, then I will.
What is my skin/hair like and what do I look for in my products?
I have dry (at the moment dehydrated as well), sensitive skin. I get hormonal acne and suffer from hyper-pigmentation. I also have ridiculously oily eye-lids (it makes no sense, grr.) so lots of eyeliners and mascaras smudge on me. With some foundations, I do sometimes find that by the end of the day my t-zone is a little oily. To top it all off, I also have dry, damaged and naturally curly hair, which I heat style 2/3 times a week.So usually in my skin care/makeup products, the main thing I look for is moisture, they need to be moisturising and if they promote radiance, then that's a plus (usually helps a little with hyper-pigmentation).
Finally, why "Sparkle Sandwich"?
I didn't want anything too cheesy or girly or cliched, which is difficult considering beauty products etc are pretty girly and it is a little cliche to be blogging about it. However, I wanted a name that included something girly juxtaposed with something a bit different, which also relates to my love of food, and some of the tasty treats I will be posting along the way. And in a way, the sandwich element reflects beauty quite well, as it's all about layering, layering moisture, layering products for an intense colour and in many other cases. So it fits really well! (Also, I like sandwiches.) ...And what's not to like about Sparkles? :)
Hopefully this explains things a little and if you have any questions please comment below.
