Polished Up #2

Hola!

Quick polish post... I got this polish last week because I thought it looked super pretty in the bottle and tried it out for the first time today!

Let me tell you... the formulation is incredible! Looking at it in the bottle, I thought it might be a bit streaky and take a few layers to make it opaque, but no!!! It was basically opaque in one coat... that usually never happens with light shimmery girly polishes like this one. This is why I thought I'd share this discovery with you! I was very pleased and surprised!!

I applied two coats because I always do two but you definitely don't need to. So impressed with this polish... Well done, Revlon! Generally I have had quite good luck with Revlon polish, but in particular this one, I am absolutely loving it!

It is the Revlon Nail Enamel in Frostiest Pink and you can get it from Boots here for £6.49, they are currently on 3 for 2!

Hydrate Me, Hydraluron!

It's taken me a really long time to write this post (I got my Hydraluron in June) because I wasn't sure about it for a really long time. But now, without further ado... here is my review!!

At the beginning, I honestly did not think it was doing anything, I didn't think it was making things worse, but I just thought it was a bit 'meh'...

Happy November & A Computer Crash!

Happy November guys!!! I know I'm a few days late in posting this - but I wanted to post it nevertheless!

November is one of my favourite months - maybe my most favourite - because it's a super cozy month where it is properly autumn/winter and it is a lot closer to christmas, when you can start feeling in the Holiday mood! That and it's my birthday towards the end of the month... it's the big 21 for me, so that may be part of the reason! Haha


How was your guys' Halloween? What did you dress up as? As a last minute costume I did a classic smokey eye + whiskers + ears to make a cute cat costume!

With regards to the lack of posting, as you can tell from the title of this post - I had a computer crash last week, and lost most of my data. Much of my time has been spent on recovering or attempting to get back some of what I had before! Hopefully I will be back on my posting schedule this week. :)

Obviously posts have been non-existant for the past couple of months, starting a new job at the end of July and then going on holiday, and then returning back to university I got a bit caught up - needless to say things were pretty hectic.

Bioderma: Sensibio vs Sebium

Bioderma has been raved about so much and there are a couple of different versions, so I thought I'd try a couple and see what the differences are and which I prefer.

Review: La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Extreme Face Fluid SPF 50+

Hola!
With all the heat and sun we have going on at the moment, sun screen on the face is a must! I haven't heard much about this product yet and I just bought this product (another haul coming soon...) and I believe it is quite new, so I thought I'd do a quick review on it.

It has quite a thin consistency, which is nice for a sunscreen, as I hate the thick oily ones that feel like they will never sink in...

A Discovery (or Two)

So I feel pretty bad for not posting last week... but there was just no way it was going to happen. I've been working a lot, so have just not had time to write posts to a standard that I felt happy with. Sunday Funday & Wishlist

So usually on Sundays I like to post about the links I've been loving for the week, etc however this week I've spent a lot of time studying for my driving theory test, which is tomorrow (yes, I'm 20 and can't drive.. scandalous).  

Today, we went to see the Serpentine Pavilion, designed by Sou Fujimoto in Kensington Gardens/Hyde Park. I thought it was really amazing! It looked kind of like a white cloud, which when you got closer looked like a big climbing frame! Take a look at some of the photos I took below:

The Power of Chocolate: A Tasty Treat

The first food post... Exciting times! I made this cake for one of my housemate's birthdays just at the end of term. She really likes chocolate and that was the only criteria she required for the cake. Despite the sponge element of the cake not being chocolate, we found that you really don't miss it as the creamy, rich, super-chocolatey texture of the sour cream icing is more than enough chocolate for the tastebuds.

Review: Clinique Lash Power Mascara

I thought I would review this Clinique mascara. I've not read many reviews about it on the internet, but thought it definitely deserved a mention. I actually intended on purchasing the bottom lash mascara, but it happened to be out of stock. The lady at the counter assured me that this was just - if not more - smudge proof than the bottom lash one, with a small enough brush for precision on the bottom lashes and still large enough to use on the top lashes too.

Generally, I hate small brushes and I always go for the massive ones (think Benefit BadGal Lash mascara)...

How To: Heal a Sunburn

Hate sunburn? Yep, me too... 
Today, I thought I would write a post about Sunburn.. possibly the most annoying thing about summer. Especially since, I was fortunate enough to get a nice and painful sunburn yesterday (I live in the UK... what is this?!). So, I have been looking up lots of remedies and ways of recuperating and recovering my skin.

These have been my favourite internet finds this week.

Since I had to go back to university for a few days this week, to collect my results (officially finished for the year now!) and was without computer for 3 whole days... (it was tough) I only have 3 favourites. Usually, I'll try to post 5 or 6 - this will be difficult, as I usually find loads of links/sites that I love.

Zoella's first makeup tutorial, an everyday look. Really enjoyable to watch! And a couple of interesting things she mentions about the brushes she uses in relation to the size of her face. And it's done in the usual quirky and cute Zoella fashion. 

Polished Up #1

Having a good Top Coat and Base Coat combo, is a must-have for long-lasting and chip-free nails. I really like painting my nails and having a fresh new colour on my nails. I generally give myself a manicure every 2/3 days, if I'm not going au natural. Not to mention, it's a fun and relaxing way to have a little bit of "me-time".

What is "Sparkle Sandwich"?

Hola! I thought I'd start my blog by doing a quick little introduction, answering the most common questions that I have as soon as I start reading a new blog. So, without further ado:

Who am I?

My name is Esti, I'm 20 years old and I'm a third year Architecture student, here in the UK. About a year and a half ago, I properly "discovered" (meaning that I'm obsessed with) youtube, beauty and fashion blogs and that whole world. Since then, reading blogs and catching up on youtube tutorials/vlogs are the highlight of each day.

Why have I started this blog?

I decided to start this blog because I love reading other blogs, however, many of the blogs that I read, the majority (coincidentally) happen to have normal/oily skin. I have very sensitive and dry (amongst other issues... *sigh*) skin, so sometimes the skin care and face, foundation products etc. that are recommended don't work well for me. This way I can keep track of products I try and if even one person reads this and is helped in any way, that is more than enough for me.

What am I going to be posting about?

My intention is to post written blogs, reviews and photos about skin care, hair care, nail products, make up, some tasty treats and things that look pretty.

How often/when will I be posting?

I am hoping to post 3 times a week on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, of course, if I have a sudden urge to randomly add a new post, then I will.
